My name is Don Weyant and I ride a 2007 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom. My wife, Monica, named it Blue Steel because of the Candy Plasma Blue color.
I started riding dirtbikes growing up in Pennsylvania. As I got older though, my interests moved more towards cars and trucks. When I moved to California in 2002, I met some friends who had motorcycles and it gave me the riding itch again. I rode for a little while on borrowed bikes from friends, but had to give it up until 2007 when I took the MSF course with Brent as my instructor. Within a month of taking the course and getting my license, I bought the Vulcan and started riding around town and through the canyons. I never forgot though that Brent had invited me to a Chapter 237 bike night. A couple of months after the class my wife Monica and I went over to the bike night, and not long after that we were invited into the Chapter with open arms.
I ride as a way to escape everyday life. When you are riding, the only things that matter, are the bike, the people your riding with, and the road that lies ahead.
